Re: 1.2Dig-T gone tappety in the cold weather

Just spoke to the dealer and as I suspected they can't find anything amiss. They acknowledge it has a rattle when cold but "nothing out of the ordinary". "Why didn't it do it last winter then" I asked? "Don't know sir"... With all the negative reports of issues with the...

Re: 1.2Dig-T gone tappety in the cold weather

Hi Splank, Thanks for the reply, only just picked it up. I came back to add more info in the interest of not spreading false advice! The fuel additive was a red herring unfortunately, so not pinking or carbon build up etc. The car is indeed a 2018 model, with no loss of oil. The tapping has got a li...

Re: X-tronic failure?

Hi Swe, Sorry to hear you're having problems with your X-tronic. I have the same gearbox and am constantly worried it's going to cause problems after experiencing a belt slip a few months ago. It made a horrendous screech followed by a thump as the car started to move :( Anyway, I haven't experience...

Re: 1.2Dig-T gone tappety in the cold weather

Well, for anyone that's interested, a shot of redex in a tank full of BP ultimate seems to have tamed the taps.

Pinking on a modern engine? Wouldn't have thought so due to knock and octane sensors etc.

1.2Dig-T gone tappety in the cold weather

Hi all, Just the other day, since the cold snap set in, I noticed my Pulsars engine tapping significantly around the 2k rev mark when under load for the first few minutes of cold driving. It's there if the engine is revved in neutral but barely audible. Noise goes away once the engine temp comes up ...

Re: Emergency brake system (AEB) fault.

I have this intermittent problem too, had it since new. Same “ Front radar unavailable due to obstruction” message during heavy rain. Can come and go several times on a long journey. Raised it with dealer on first service and they acknowledged lots of error codes for front radar and tried to BS me a...

Re: New Pulsar owner, just grabbed a bargain.

To be fair, when I went in to enquire about the offer on their website, staff at the dealership didn't know about it themselves. I had to tell them to look on-line! This is a major dealership with several outlets in the South West. £4k plus off the list price is not to be sniffed at either. Standar...

Re: New Pulsar owner, just grabbed a bargain.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. kt53, well, apart from the one I bought, the only other ones I could find at that price are used with 1000's of miles on them, so relatively speaking it was a good price, 2yrs later than you of course. I'm only missing out on a few months warranty & MOT free tim...

New Pulsar owner, just grabbed a bargain.

Hi all, Late to the party as ever, I picked up a brand new Pulsar last week, just as they go out of production  I'd been searching for a more economical car to run than my previous Ford Focus ST and Pulsars really started to grab my attention, I think they look great. Anyway, long story short, ...
