Yes it's the same on mine. Clutch pedal has to be right down before the car will start. As keithbrown53 says, you can also start by pressing the brake pedal, although no mention of that in the handbook.

I didn't take out GAP insurance. The one glaring issue with the one offered by the dealer was the cap at 'Full purchase price'. As I got close to 4 grand off the price - brand new, if I binned it a couple of months down the road I'd be short changed anyway. I also have 1 year GAP on my car insurance.

I don't think it should be called Stop/Start anyway. From my experience it's more like "Stop Once For An Indeterminate Time And Then Not Stop Again If You Are In A Traffic Jam". I suppose that is a bit too much to put in the index of the handbook

That's good. Rubbish that it does what it does, but the end result is OK.

I had the same problem initially. Fixed mine by stopping the engine and restarting. Shortly after that it displayed 'Updating' or something similar and now is fine.
