Re: Newby help required urgently please!!
Yes it's the same on mine. Clutch pedal has to be right down before the car will start. As keithbrown53 says, you can also start by pressing the brake pedal, although no mention of that in the handbook.

Re: Discount on GAP Insurance
I didn't take out GAP insurance. The one glaring issue with the one offered by the dealer was the cap at 'Full purchase price'. As I got close to 4 grand off the price - brand new, if I binned it a couple of months down the road I'd be short changed anyway. I also have 1 year GAP on my car insurance.

Re: Stop/Start Fault
I don't think it should be called Stop/Start anyway. From my experience it's more like "Stop Once For An Indeterminate Time And Then Not Stop Again If You Are In A Traffic Jam". I suppose that is a bit too much to put in the index of the handbook

Re: Stop/Start Fault
I don't think the stop start system is faulty, the technology is flawed.I had the same with a Kia Venga it only worked when the correct criteria was met!! Fair comment on the difference between faulty and flawed. I accept that 'flawed' is nearer the mark, but either way it's a pain in the a**e and I...

That's good. Rubbish that it does what it does, but the end result is OK.

Re: Sat Nav Map Update - Nissan taking the ****
I had the same problem initially. Fixed mine by stopping the engine and restarting. Shortly after that it displayed 'Updating' or something similar and now is fine.

Re: Sat Nav Map Update - Nissan taking the ****
I e-mailed Nissan Customer Support to clarify the situation regarding free updates for the sat-nav and received this reply:- "your vehicle will be covered by MapCare, giving you free map updates for the first 3 years following registration. Going forward, all Nissan Dealerships will provide the...

Re: Stop/Start Fault
Operation of the Stop/Start system is inconsistent to say the least. I take my wife to work every morning, using exactly the same route. There hasn't been much difference in weather / temperature over the past couple of weeks but the S/S acts very differently. Sometimes it kicks in when I stop at th...

You could try local vehicle dismantlers, although there aren't many Pulsars around you may get lucky.
