Friends 2005 Pulsar Problem

Hey guys,
A friend of mine is having a problem with her 2005 auto Nissan Pulsar. I haven't been to have a look at the car yet so my information is pretty limited.
The description of the problem is; when the car reaches 50Km/h the revvs start struggling and the car is shuddering, then when she stopped it stalled.
I'm going to clean the spark plugs and maf sensor, any idea of what might cause an issue like this?
