A report from a WCF tipster has revealed some engine details for future Nismo-badged models.
According to their source, Nissan has already finished development of a 4-cylinder, 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 266 bhp. The engine will be installed at first in a Nismo variant of the second generation Qashqai set to be launched in February 2015.
The same engine will also find its way under the bonnet of the Nissan Pulsar Nismo where it will likely have an identical output. It is believed the hot hatchback will be launched after the Qasqhai Nismo so expect a reveal in the second half of 2015. A Nissan representative already hinted a potential Nismo derivative of the Pulsar should have at least 248 bhp so the reported 266 bhp output makes sense.
