Sat Nav Map Update - Nissan taking the ****
I received a new free card for my 1014 Pulsar from Nissan on Saturday (Rhys in Customer Services) to replace the original which was 2013 mapdata.
It is not quite the same as the previous post
My card has the following on the front of it:-
Nissan Connect 3 Europe V1.1
LCN2K-EV1GW
Part No. T1000-24973
243333
So yes, it is a new card being Connect 3 but no clue as to how updated the map is. I wonder if it depends on the age of the car or is it just chance!

Older cars are getting v1.1. Here's Nissan's reply to my email:kt53 wrote:Probably stating the bleeding obvious but v1.1 compared to v2 has to be earlier. There's going to be a difference, and surely everybody should be provided with the latest update if they are entitled to updates.
Dear Mr Brown,
Thank you for your email dated 19 June 2017. From our records we can see that you have a Nissan Pulsar had the most up to date GPS system that is available for your vehicle. The SD card in all Nissan vehicles is always the latest version available at the factory at the point of time when the car is being manufactured. I can confirm that your vehicle was manufactured in 2014; therefore your vehicle would have had the latest version available at the time of manufacture.
On 13 June 2017 an updated SD map card was sent out to you.
Product information: LCN2K-EV1GW
NISSAN connect 3
Reference: REF:RK 015500215FR
The version sent to you was an updated version that was not available at the time that your vehicle was manufactured.
Unfortunately, you are not eligible for a free Version 2.0 SD card.
I have provided a link below to their website that will enable you to check this update as soon as it becomes available or alternatively, they can be purchased at your local Nissan dealership.

I hope this information answers your questions, however if you have any further requests, do not hesitate to contact us using the information provided below.
Yours Sincerely,
CeCe
That confirms the suspicion I had, that it's only very recent registrations i.e. possibly the past 12 months which are going to get free upgrades for the period of warranty. Crap customer service in my opinion. It might be worth trying to find the name of the director with responsibility for Customer Service and contacting him direct. Alternatively, go straight to the top http://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-8976

Emailed the CEO and received a phone call this afternoon, as to why some are receiving 1.1, and others 2.0.
A lady from the CEO's office has promised to investigate.
I will post the outcome here when I know more.

I received V1.1 yesterday (21/06) for my Pulsar registered 03/16. I wonder if the Sat nav systems on the later cars is different. FWIW where i used to work
before becoming a man of leisure!! software versions when updated incremented V1- V1.1 etc but if there had been a hardware change then the software went to the next whole number ie V2.0. This is a method of denoting to those that need to know that although the exterior was the same there was something new inside. Just my 2 penny worth.
