I am trying to get my head around the set up of the lighting on my pulsar Tekna, am I correct in assuming that the day time running lights are in the same housing as the fog lights and are a yellowish light, why is it that most cars have the white strip lights as day time running lights that begs the question what are the white strip lights on the pulsar for and can they be switched on independently on their own to act as daytime running lights.

DRL are in the same housing as the fog lights, but use different bulbs.

The LED strip in the headlight cluster are the side lights. When you turn the side lights on, the LED strips illuminate and DRL's turn off... I suppose thats probably what you want but the LED strips are not bright enough during strong sunlight really.
