In which case, yes you will need replace the caliper/carrier/rear brake guard at minimum.

Make sure you check out if there is a difference in the rear brakes as well, in addition any brake balance differences as whacking on larger discs/pads up front could upset the balance

Thanks SplanK, I thought there was a rear difference too but there isn't!
Must be to allow for the extra weight of the 1600 lump.
If the rears were larger then I would have thought about a change all round. May just upgrade to a brand when it comes to it. Not wanting to break the bank with the likes of Tarox personally.

FYI the brembo pads are a noticeable improvement over stock in terms of performance. And not particularly expensive either. How long they last is another thing. They don't come with shims though, so be careful taking the old ones off.

Cheers StuGee, like you say, part prices are not much more when you look on likes of AutoDoc etc. May buy the gear over the course of next year/paint and fit them when needing replacing. I'm not going down BIG brakes route. 1.2 is only a commute car and runaround. Love it tho.
