System Fault start stop

Hi

Continuing to have periodic issues with this, wont start, all warning lights on, needles going haywire, saying key isnt recognised, now saying key battery low. Nissan have been no help at all, advising to bring the car into to get checked but by the time I get it to the garage no fault is showing up on the diagnostics test. I hvae taken it to a garage that is not a nissan dealership and again same issue, no fault showing up. Would you recommend going back to a nissan dealership as surely a diagnostics test is the same regardless of the garage?

I strongly object to having to pay £90 for a test that isn't going to show up any issues and now because my car is out of warranty I need to foot any bill and then go through all the stress of arguing with Nissan

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve?

Thanks

Can they not do a factory reset then updates, sounds like a sensor fault, used to have that on my truck now and then.

I would have though the car system would show historic faults until they are cleared.
Do you know anyone who has a OBD2 reader (basically a diagnostics testing tool that works the same way as garages equipment but maybe not as hi tech) , you/they can use the reader to check what faults are on the system and check the codes it gives you on the internet.
That way you can give the garage an idea of what the issue is but nowdays mechanics are basically 'the computer says no' instead of real mechanics.
As gezt says, the system may need a factory reset and updates which can only really be done by a garage.
How long is your car out of warranty, if not long or if the issue showed up during the warranty period, put forward a case for the diagnostics to be performed free of charge, maybe a good will gesture.
Good luck

i had the same issue and had to call the RAC, turned out the battery was at fault ( car battery not key fob) and was replaced by them. Hope this helps

Hi everyone
I experience this kind of problem when i asked for a test drive. It was with 1.2 DIG T n-connecta. When i stopped at the lights and just when i was about to release my clutch and drive away. The car just shut down. It happend 3x before i could drive again. The salesman beside me said that when i release the clutch that i should give more gas so that the engine won't shut down.

Have battery checked , some factory fitted ones are suspect.
