Yes, for centre console, read armrest, although my User manual calls it the console box lid which was the subject of my original post (see page
1-4). Of course the armrest/lid is liftable in order to access the rather meagre space beneath, but I thought my original posting made it clear that I was querying why I could not access the shallow pencils/coin tray-like space actually inside the lid itself. The Qashqai has this as did my previous Renault Scenic. If you will look at page 2-37 in the storage section of the users manual, you will see it illustrated and described there as being available [presumably] on all models. I would have thought that the fact that your armrest is non-sliding shouldn't make any difference. Next time you are in your Dealership, have a look at a Qashqai armrest and I hope you will see what I mean.
