I'm wondering if any of you have 'chip tuned" your Pulsar? I have a reputable place near me that says they can get about 10-15 hp more out of my 1.2 Dig-t. I guess it's adding a bit more boost on the turbo. Anyway, just checking before maybe pondering into this.

Cheers

They work by boosting fuel rail pressure along with turbo boost. They do work

It's entirely up to pal, but the 1.2 is a very fragile engine without a remap

What do you mean a "fragile engine without a remap"? Do you mean it has much more potential?

I suspect by 'fragile' he means it could blow up, or at least fail, if you try to uprate it.

I mean that unfortunately the 1.2 Turbo engines have a very high failure rate at best, unless you're one of the very lucky few!

If you don't mind us asking, what mileage has your pulsar done, and what year is it? Do you need to top up your oil regularly and if you do, roughly how much/often?

My Pulsar has 41,000 km. I think it's the same engine that is in the Renault Clio, which is quite popular. Anyway, I think I will not mess with it to be safe.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here, but I have remapped my 1.6 Pulsar and have a custom cat back exhaust with resonator delete, and a K&N panel air filter. I've also upgraded my tyres to Michelin pilot sport 4 which is 225 width instead of 215. Car now puts out 230bhp and 320nm torque, massive difference in handling, grip and getting that increased power down!

Metal mickey- Nothing unless they do an ECU update.

Ravi_bhatt - really interested in remapping my 1.6, would you mind telling us what company you used? If you don't mind :D

Further question PulsarNismo94, under normal servicing would ECU updates be a part of any service.
I am interested in possible remap but might be reluctant if I then lost it via ECU update unless company doing remap guaranteed to reinstall if that scenario happened.
1.6 L 16 plate, 32,500 miles done so far.
