Wireing harness replacement

Hi all, sorry if this isnt in the correct place!
i had to take my pulsar to the dealership yesterday due to some system faults that my garage were unable to get to the bottom of. After another £160 plus an additional 90mins labour costs for diagnostics and investigation costs, i apparently need a replacement engine wiring harness as mine has corroded beyond repair? According to the dealership this part is not in stock in the uk at present so has to be on back order which is going to take at least 6weeks to get here. The cost of this replacement is going to be £1900 😱

i bought this car used 2 years ago and it has just under 75000 on the clock is well looked after and maintained regularly!

My questions to the group are
1. Is should this part have such corrosion in relatively young vehicle?
2. Does anyone else have experience of this issue?
3. Is this a known fault and is there a recall in Force?
4. Could the corrosion have been caused by the bad battery saga that Nissan have refused to complete a recall on?

basically i am trying to build a case, and get nissan customer care to agree to foot the bill (or at least part of it) for this as in my opinion and experienced driver of many vehicles i believe this particular part should not be so defective after only 6years of life. 🤷‍♀️
Many thanks in advance
Kris

There is a Facebook Group - Nissan Pulsar C13 Owners Club, which was set up by a former member of this forum, and is much more active. It would be worth asking the question there.
