Door close noise - sounds like my old '89 Renault 5!

Hi,

New into pulsar ownerhip.

I've a '15 plate 1.6.

I notice that the rear doors both close with a nice 'thunk' which gives that pleasing impression of quality (lol).

However, the front doors, especially the driver's door, sound like total crap when they close. I'm guessing stuff has loosened inside the door over time so I'll take off the doorcard and have a look tomorrow.

I wondered if anyone else has found this and might know what is likely to be loose in there?

Cheers :)

My drivers door makes a similar noise, puts me in mind of a car I had as an apprentice.
Could be something to do with the window mechanism? Would love to know more ;)

Hi,

Well I totally solved the drivers door noise by removing the door panel and then padding out the loose item with some rubbery bitchumen tape.

It was the large metal cover (black) that fits over the door lock mechanism and was very obviously banging when the door closed

I also found one of the retaining nuts for the window regulator was tottloose and ready to fall off.

So I was very happy with that, however when I did the same on the passenger side I couldn't find anything loose and was left scratching my head. Still one door sounds nice now and one doesn't lol. The drivers was always the worst so I'm happy with that

P.s - be careful not to break or scratch anything when taking the door card off, there is a guide on you tube for the nissan pathfinder/QQ which is very similar to the pulsar.
